Meeks believes in the fluidity of media and selects those that serve the purpose of the work. Past works blend ceramics, painting, photography, text, live plants, and industrial fixtures. Past themes include order & chaos, degradation & permanence, and socioeconomic inequalities in public schools.
Her recent exhibitions have been located in North Carolina, New York, and Nebraska. She has also received multiple grants and scholarships for her work from various sponsors including the Research Institute for the Environment, Energy, and Economics. Public collections include Appalachian State University's PSU Permanent Collection. Her writing has been published by The Huffington Post, NC Policy Watch, Public Schools First NC, and Red4Ed.
Meeks has a BFA in Studio Art and a BS in Art Education from Appalachian State University. She currently teaches high school art in Raleigh, North Carolina and is developing her personal studio.
